Why is the magazine not delivered to the whole of the city?

Before Execite was launched, proprietor Gill Tippins used her many years experience in local free press and running her own company Gemini Publishing to ascertain the best areas to distribute Execite to give best value for potential clients. The cost of printing and delivering  to the whole of Exeter and the rural areas would have been prohibitive making advertising rates too expensive for many small businesses, so decision had to be made to make the publication effective and affordable for all clients.

How are the areas of distribution decided?

The majority of the copies of Execite are delivered by Royal Mail, the areas are selected by postcodes  shown in pale pink on our map. This is the rural areas around the city are regarded as a affluent commuter belt and selected areas of the city. A small quantity are delivered to carefully chosen ABC1 areas (detached semi detached private properties) within the city by our own distribution team.

The objective of every advertiser is to get their tills ringing, to do this they need to reach those with higher disposable incomes, hence these were the areas chosen to deliver Execite.

Execite has proved particularly popular and well retained  in the rural areas as they do not receive other publications, hence it is a main source of news and information.

Why is Execite printed on newsprint rather than glossy paper?

When Execite was launched finances dictated that a decision had to be made whether the magazine was printed in a very glossy 'posh' format and delivered in cheap less effective way.

Or a huge volume printed on newsprint and delivered direct to the door of our readers in targeted areas with higher disposable income by Royal Mail. This is the only effective delivery system, particularly in areas where the houses have longer driveways, are further apart and the more  rural areas. Royal Mail is very expensive but offer a service second to none.

During Gill’s 15 years in free press, before setting up her own business, one of her responsibilities was free delivery, this experience taught her that delivery by casual workers simply does not work well.

Since Execite was first launched over 12 years ago many super glossy publications have arrived in the area, some published by national and local companies but have not survived the test of time.  Execite  has stood the test of time and is a successful publication both for our company and for our clients
